Via my full time job with Fulcrum, in which I predominantly work on website promotion for clients (SEO), but on the odd occasion I get to build a new website for a couple of our clients. I just would like to share one of those websites with you all. The website is for a plumbing company in Manchester called Four Seasons Heating & Plumbing.
“Four seasons plumbing has been established 12 years. We are friendly, clean and tidy, we do an excellent job at competitive rates. We are insured and totally professional, our work is second to none and we have a few tradesmen within our company. We are not (jacks of all trades) we are time served. We specialise in bathrooms, wetrooms, central heating, power flushing, leaks, taps etc.”
I built the website using the powerful cms platform called WordPress. Below is a screenshot or you can visit the website directly by visiting: www.gassafemanchester.com
I`ve been quite busy in recent weeks helping with the development and SEO of the Mobile Website specialist`s Go-Mobile, their niche is converting existing websites into mobile device friendly websites.
If you think about it, in the next couple of years most people will be using their smartphones and tablets to view websites instead of powering up their PC`s and laptop computers.
In what very rare spare time I have to myself I like to improve my skills by creating templates and themes to release globally for free.
I`ve recently fell in love with a CMS script called GetSimple, as the name suggest it`s a wonderfully pleasant experience to work with, style and use. None of the bloated coding and scripting as you would find in WordPress or Joomla.
Late last week I decided to build a theme for the CMS, which to my surprise was a doddle compared to WordPress. So here I present SimpleBee CMS Theme.
Built using HTML5 / CSS3, theme has also been made mobile friendly (responsive). I`m currently writing a plugin for social media and seo specifically for the theme, which should be ready in a few days, so watch this space.
If the theme gets a good response I will probably port it to WordPress and a static version.

Ive been working on a gallery for one of my freelance clients today using the open source gallery script called Plogger, I have been trying to figure out how to embed a single album into a static php webpage. Unfortunately the Plogger support forums do not have a great amount of information on how to embed a collection into a webpage.
I eventually figured it out and I will share how I managed to do it with you all so it will save you time trying to search through the Plogger support forums.
1. Make sure the page extension is a php page (will not work in html)
2. Add the following code into the 1st line of of the page:
< ?php
require('gallery/gallery.php');
if ($GLOBALS['plogger_level']=='collections' || $GLOBALS['plogger_level']=='collection' ) {
$GLOBALS['plogger_level'] = 'album';
$GLOBALS['plogger_id'] = 9; // Enter the id# of the album here
}
plogger_init();
?>
3. Add the following code into your head tag:
< ?php the_gallery_head(); ?>
4. Add the following code where you you would like to album to display:
< ?php the_gallery(); ?>
That`s it, your album should now show in your webpage, make sure you set the correct album id to show your specific album.
One last thing, due to the formatting of WordPress, when I was writing this tutorial make sure you remove the space in-between < ? to <?
I been busy recently working on a number of websites, though I would share this website with you all. The website has been built for a man and van Manchester removals company based in Manchester.
The website is fast, clean and very easy to edit, with a dynamic sidebar for updating and adding content. I will also running an seo campaign for them. Already seeing positive result for their main keyphrases in less than a week.
Take a look of the website, feel free to leave any comments you have.
Recently I started work on a new website based on the very popular rock music event Download Festival which is held every year at Donnington Race Track.
The website is more of a personal and social idea I had, I attend the festival every year and would like to setup an unofficial fan website.
The website is far from completed yet, but you can view my work in progress by following this link: www.downloadfestival.info
Once the website is completed I will post write-up about the website on Sitebee.
Lastweek I was asked to build a website for a client (My day job) in WordPress. I was asked because I know wordpress better than any of the other web designers I work with.
I found a nice and clean theme, which I stripped right down to the barebones, and rebuilt it from the ground up. I used a few plugins such as the easing slider, (homepage) testimonials plugin and the NG Gallery plugin.
I stripped out the sidebar and replaced with the company accreditations in the form of images and a link to their facebook page. Have a look for yourself and let me know what you think.
The only thing I do not like is the logo image, the client requested to include the CW in the logo, which in my opinion makes it look a little tacky.
